Dear DJSR Families,

We are thrilled to welcome you to our upcoming two-day Slalom Training Camp at Big Snow! Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to design an impactful and fun experience for your athletes, and we can’t wait to get started.

Our experienced team of race coaches is eager to work with your athlete, sharing their passion and expertise to help build technical skills and confidence. We are fully committed to delivering a high-quality, positive training environment that emphasizes learning, growth, and fun.

🧭 What Sets DJSR Apart
At DJSR, we believe strong racers start as strong skiers.

Our training is tailored specifically for U8 to U12 athletes, blending the latest in biomechanics, youth development, and skill progression. With a high coach-to-athlete ratio, each session features progressive drills, evolving course sets, and focused stations that reinforce essential alpine racing fundamentals.

We go beyond gate repetition, incorporating U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s SkillsQuest drills and coached free skiing into our program to build strong movement patterns that translate directly into race performance.

Rooted in proven methods from USSS, PSIA, and international youth models, our approach balances technical development with fun, age-appropriate challenges.

We’re proud to deliver a training experience that builds confidence, skill, and a lifelong love of ski racing.

🧤 What to Know for Camp Day
Here are some important reminders to help your athlete arrive ready to go:

• Chin guards are required to run gates.
  
• Pole guards and shin guards are highly recommended to get the most out of the training.
  
• Label all your gear - especially race poles, to avoid confusion.
  
• Dress in layers - it’s 28°F inside Big Snow. Race suits optional.
  
• Grab a complimentary energy bar and water from Mrs. Coach upon arrival to stay fueled and hydrated.

🕗 Arrival & Check-In

• Sign-in starts at 8:25 AM on the outdoor concourse of Level 2, Parking Lot A.
  
• All racers must check in with Mrs. Coach (Therese Calafati) at the side door before entering the locker room.
  
• Parents will be permitted into the Big Snow locker room to assist racers with booting up at 8:35am.
  
• At 9:00 AM, once racers and coaches head to the hill, all parents must exit the locker room.
  
• Re-entry at noon, at which time parents are permitted back inside to assist and collect their racers.
  
• All racers must be signed out by a guardian with Mrs. Coach at the side door.

While parents are not allowed inside the Big Snow Facility during training, there are several viewing areas inside The American Dream Mall:

• Grisini’s Coffee  (Court A, Level 2)
  
• Yard House Restaurant (Level 3) window views of Big Snow

🎉 Join Us for the Farewell Ceremony!
We invite all families to join us on Wednesday after the camp for a special Farewell Ceremony to celebrate the athletes' progress, pick up your camp goodie bag, and wrap up two great days of training!
